It is through the loving, trusting relationship of the teacher that the child first makes contact with the environment and then is given the confidence and support to explore. Montessori teachers are trained to observe a child and judge appropriately when it is time to step in to help and when that help would rob the child of the joy of his own achievement. The teacher in a Montessori classroom is a facilitator rather than an instructor and serves as a link between the child and the learning environment.

Teachers and Administrators at Mission Montessori hold diplomas from the American Montessori Society (AMS) or the Association Montessori International (AMI).

Our Primary and Toddler classrooms are staffed by a minimum of two adults including a Montessori certified lead teacher and associate or assistant teacher/s who has a college degree or meets the California Early Childhood Education requirement.

Our Infant Program is staffed by a lead teacher and a minimum of two associate teachers who hold a college degree and/or meet the California Infant and Toddler Early Childhood Education requirements in addition to on-site Montessori training.

“Never help a child with a task at which he can succeed.”
