It is through the loving, trusting relationship of the teacher that the child first makes contact with the environment and then is given the confidence and support to explore. Montessori teachers are trained to observe a child and judge appropriately when it is time to step in to help and when that help would rob the child of the joy of his own achievement. The teacher in a Montessori classroom is a facilitator rather than an instructor and serves as a link between the child and the learning environment.

“I was drawn to Montessori because it respects children’s individuality and learning pace. I also love that there are no limits to what the child can learn. I love creating a learning environment with a home feel. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my 2 dogs, lifting weights, camping, hiking and exploring new restaurants and dessert places.”

“I was first introduced to Montessori while completing my teaching credential. I was so amazed at how independent, calm and respectful the children were that I decided to forgo my credential and get my Montessori certification instead. I teach the weekly Bible class at MM and it’s one of the best parts of my job. When I’m not teaching I love walking my dog on the beaches of Laguna and hiking in the canyon. I also serve on the women’s ministry team at my church as a mentor for young women.”

“I have a genuine love of working with children and am passionate about the Montessori philosophy! Watching children grow in their independence and joy for learning is a beautiful and fulfilling experience. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, painting, going to the zoo and spending time with my husband and our one eyed cat Puddy.”

“I fell in love with the Montessori philosophy while working as an assistant and decided to do the training. I feel so lucky to wake up and go to work with co-workers and a job that I love! When I’m not teaching I love cooking, baking, going to the beach and taking mini vacations with my husband and daughter. My husband and I also enjoy being active volunteers with the San Clemente Elks Lodge and the Downtown Business Association.”

“I have always loved to help anyone younger than myself. I always wanted to be a mother, and I always knew that my future career would involve children in some respect. The more I learned about the Montessori philosophy the more I loved it. When I took the training, all the pieces fell into place, and solidified my belief in the importance and the brilliance of the Montessori method. In my down time I enjoy painting, sewing, reading and writing. I also love traveling and spending time with my husband and son.”

“Never help a child with a task at which he can succeed.”
