Montessori Toddler Program in Mission Viejo | Ages 2–3 Years
At Mission Montessori, our Toddler Program is thoughtfully designed to support the boundless energy, growing independence, and rapid development of children ages 2 to 3 years. Rooted in the Montessori philosophy and guided by our Christian foundation, our nurturing environment encourages toddlers to explore, discover, and thrive emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

A Purposeful Environment for Active Learners
Our carefully prepared toddler classrooms are calm, inviting spaces filled with natural materials and child-sized furnishings that empower children to do things for themselves. Every shelf, tool, and routine is designed to support independence, coordination, and concentration.

Toddlers are naturally curious and eager to participate in the world around them. Our Montessori-trained teachers guide children through purposeful activities that support their emerging motor skills, language development, and social-emotional growth. At this age, children are especially sensitive to order, routine, and imitation—elements we thoughtfully incorporate into their daily experience.

Respectful, Individualized Care
We honor each child’s unique personality, pace of development, and growing desire to "do it myself." Teachers offer gentle encouragement and model respectful communication, helping toddlers feel secure, confident, and connected.

Children are supported through key transitions—including toilet learning, peer interactions, and participating in group routines—at a pace that respects their developmental readiness. Until then, we continue to follow each child’s individual rhythm to ensure a smooth and supported progression.

A Montessori Curriculum for the Toddler Years
The toddler program includes hands-on learning experiences across all areas of development:

  • Practical Life: Activities like pouring, sweeping, dressing, and food preparation help build independence and coordination.
  • Language Development: Daily conversation, songs, stories, and vocabulary enrichment help toddlers express themselves and build strong communication skills.
  • Movement: Toddlers refine both gross and fine motor skills through movement-rich activities, indoor and outdoor play, and purposeful work.
  • Grace and Courtesy: Children learn how to interact kindly and respectfully with peers and adults, forming the foundation for lifelong social-emotional skills.

Healthful Living and Faith-Based Values
Our Christian foundation is gently woven throughout the day—through grace before meals, music, stories, and the celebration of Christian holidays. We serve healthy, organic snacks and lunches prepared on-site, supporting children’s physical development and helping establish positive lifelong habits.

Partnership with Parents
We believe a strong parent partnership is key to your toddler’s success. Our teachers maintain open, ongoing communication with families, sharing daily insights, milestones, and joyful moments through Transparent Classroom, our Montessori observation and record-keeping software.

A Joyful Foundation for Lifelong Learning
Our accredited Montessori toddler program offers a loving and structured start to your child’s educational journey. In this safe and enriching environment, your toddler will blossom—developing confidence, empathy, independence, and a deep love for learning.

“Never help a child with a task at which he can succeed.”
